Instructions
In a bowl, mix the flour and baking powder.
Cut the cold butter into cubes and add it to the flour. Rub with your fingers or use a food processor to mix until it resembles coarse sand.
Add the grated cheese to the bowl, leaving about 3 tablespoons for the end. Mix to combine.
In a bowl or cup, mix the milk and egg with a fork. Add the mixture to the flour.
Using a spatula or your hands, mix until you have a sticky dough.
Lightly flour a surface and place the dough on top. Shape into a round shape with about one inch thickness.
Brush the top with a tablespoon of milk and spread the remaining cheese on top. Pat it lightly it to stick to the dough.
With a knife or dough scraper, cut the round dough into 8 triangles.
Place the scones on a lined baking tray, leaving about 2 fingers space between them.
Bake in a preheated oven to 375℉ / 190℃ for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes
You could use cheddar cheese, swiss cheese or a mix of different cheese that you have leftover.
I do not add any salt to the dough to keep the sodium low, but you could add about half a teaspoon of salt and some black pepper for more flavor.
For babies under 12 months, you could use a mix of mozzarella and swiss cheese that are low in sodium.
