These kid-friendly gingerbread waffles are perfect for Christmas and the festive period. Very aromatic, easy to make and without any refined sugar. Enjoy!

Full of cozy fall spices, these gingerbread waffles will make your kitchen smell absolutely amazing. I’m using grape molasses to add natural sweetness, but you can use any type of molasses your family enjoys. It adds a beautiful color, deep flavor, and that classic gingerbread taste we all love.

🥘 Ingredients
To make these kid-friendly gingerbread waffles, we are going to use all-purpose flour, baking powder, butter, grape molasses, vanilla extract, egg, milk, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, allspice and ginger.
- Spices: I use a mix of fall spices to give the waffles that distinct gingerbread flavor. You could also use a teaspoon of pumpkin spice mix if you don't have all the individual spices.
- Molasses: I'm using grape molasses, but you could also use any other type of molasses or treacle you have at home, or you can find at the store.

🔪 Step-by-step Instructions
So get your ingredients ready and let's get started!
01. To start, I add the egg, milk and vanilla extract to a bowl and mix everything well with a whisk.
02. Then, I add the flour, baking powder and spices. I mix just until the dry ingredients are combined.

03. Finally, I add the molasses and melted butter and give everything a good stir to combine. Once the batter is ready, it’s time to move on to the waffle maker.
04. I’m using a Dash single waffle maker, which allows me to swap out the plates for different patterns. I add about a quarter cup of batter to the hot waffle plate and cook it for around 4 minutes, until the waffles turn a beautiful golden brown. If you’re using a different waffle maker, simply adjust the amount of batter and cooking time according to your appliance’s instructions.
