These sugar-free Christmas waffles are great for breakfast on Christmas morning or during the holiday season. Easy to make and perfect for babies following the BLW method, as well as older kids and adults. Enjoy!
Looking for breakfast ideas for Christmas morning? I've got you covered! These spiced, sugar-free waffles are perfect for the whole family. If you don't have a waffle maker, then you could also make the batter into pancakes.
I'm using my single Dash waffle maker with Christmas plates that the kids love, but you can use whichever waffle maker you have at home. For toppings, you could keep it simple and just add some fruits and maple syrup or your family's favorite toppings. Let me know in the comments how you served them!

🔪 Step-by-step Instructions
So get your ingredients ready and let's get started!
01. In a bowl, I add the ripe banana. With a fork or a masher, I mash the banana until smooth.
02. Next, I add the wet ingredients, the milk, egg, melted butter and vanilla extract. With a whisk or fork, I mix everything well.
03. Now it's time for the dry ingredients. I add the flour, baking powder and spices to the bowl. You could add more or less spices to your liking.
04. I mix all the ingredients until the flour is incorporated. Try not to overmix the batter as the waffles won't be as fluffy.
05. I pour some of the batter into the waffle maker and wait for 3–4 minutes or until the waffle has a nice golden color, and it's hard outside.
06. This recipe yields approximately 10 small waffles. I like to serve them to the kids while they're still warm and crispy, as they tend to soften over time.
📖 Substitutions & Variations
- You could add more or less spices to your liking.
- For older kids, you could use a tablespoon of honey in the batter for extra sweetness.
- If you don't have a waffle maker, you can use the same batter for making pancakes.
🍽 Serving suggestions
You could serve these spiced waffles with some berries on top and a sugar-free jam, or your favorite toppings.
❓ FAQ
Instead of a ripe banana, you could use 2 dates that you soak in 2 tablespoons of hot water and then blend them in a food processor.
